PĀPALE BLOCKING w/KEOUA NELSEN

  • Arts & Letters Nu‘uanu 1164 Nuuanu Avenue Honolulu, HI, 96817 (map)

Have an old pāpale from an ʻohana member stored away? Accidentally sit on a hat and now it's all wonky? Have it reshaped by Keoua the "hat whisperer!"

Keoua has learned over the years, through his experiences, how to “listen” to each and every pāpale--to discover what they want to become and what they were meant to be, for each one of us. It's truly amazing what an old iron and creasing and pinching here, and tucking and rolling there, can produce! Well, there’s more to it, of course! While your hat's being blocked, listen to Keouaas he shares his ʻike on Hala.

Hat shaping starts at $20 and re-shaping starts at $15. Assessments will be made before shaping. Please bring cash. Old brittle pāpale may not be advisable to re-shape.
